MT. MORRIS TWP., MI — An in-person graduation ceremony was held Friday for Beecher High School seniors at Russ Reynolds Football Field.

The ceremony was the first time in more than a year that the Class of 2021 was together in a face-to-face environment, Principal Lance Sumpter said.

He said there were 25 graduating seniors, with another six students who have the opportunity to finish their course work in summer school.

“I’m truly thankful they learned to push through regardless of any issues that were placed before them,” Sumpter said.

Each student was allotted 10 tickets to invite friends and family members to the ceremony. Masks and social distancing rules were still enforced.
