Consistency was key for Chelsea’s boys golf team at Thursday’s Division 2 regional final.

The Bulldogs clinched the regional crown thanks to all five of their golfers placing in the top 10 at the Tecumseh Golf Course.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was junior Reed Moore, who finished second overall with a 77. Junior Jace DeRosia took third overall at 78, while Carter DeRosia and Ethan Lyles each shot an 83 and Jack Murray finished with an 85.

Chelsea finished the day with a team score of 321, beating out Trenton (342) and Tecumseh (344). Trenton’s Caden Goss medal on the day with a 75.

In Division 3, Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard qualified for the state final after finishing third at its regional and Ann Arbor Greenhills’ Beau Brewer and Cale Piedmonte-Lang each qualified as individuals at the Washtenaw Golf Club on Wednesday.

FGR took third overall with a round score of 334, behind winner Grosse Ile (322) and runner-up Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett (325).

Senior Jordan Garypie paced FGR with a 79 and senior Joe Renfer shot an 82.

Greenhills Bewer and Piedmonte-Lang punched their tickets to the state final by shooting a 77 to finish as the top two individual finishers.

Chelsea will compete in the D2 state final on June 11-12 at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek, while FGR and Greenhills’ two individual qualifiers will play in the D3 final at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.
