FIFA president Gianni Infantino and CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe will embark on a four-day visit to three West African countries from 3 – 6 May 2021.

The countries include Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.

According to CAF, president Motsepe will on Tuesday, May 4, give an important announcement in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire which will particularly focus on the Pan-African inter-school championship.

His delegation will be made up of CAF Vice-Presidents Augustin Senghor, Ahmed Yahya, Suleiman Hassan Waberi, Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Kanizat Ibrahim, CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba, the Presidents of the zones, and the Presidents of the Federations of the West-B Zone.

The two football governing body presidents will then travel to Freetown on Wednesday 5 May 2021, before concluding his visit to Monrovia on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Mustapha Raji, who is also an Executive Committee Member and Vice President for the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone A), on Sunday, May 2, departed Liberia for Abidjan to form part of the delegation.

Infantino and Motsepe will arrive in Monrovia via the Roberts International Airport on May 4, 2021.

During their visit to Liberia, Infantino and Motsepe will meet with President George Weah, LFA Executive Committee Members, stakeholders and school football competitions.

According to LFA, will also inspect ongoing and completed FIFA-approved projects, which were recently commissioned by President Weah.

The last time a FIFA president visited Liberia was in 2000 when banned former president Joseph S. Blatter inaugurated the renovated Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, the first pilot project within the Goal programme initiated by him. The renovation project included state-of-the-art artificial turf and modernized facilities.

With several mini-stadiums being constructed and dedicated, Liberians could well be graced with good news of more football infrastructure development during the visitation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
