One of the five major tournaments on the LPGA calendar, the U.S. Women’s Open is set to begin on Thursday with some of the biggest name’s in the game descending on The Olympic Club in California’s Bay Area to try and etch their name in golf lore.
There are a few real front runners heading into this year’s tournament, including two-time U.S. Open-winner, and the no. 2 player in the world, Inbee Park. Park has not been as dominating as she has been in the past, but looks to bounce back after finishing tied for seventh at the ANA Inspiration. The seven-time major winner’s lone with this year, so far, was at the Kia Classic back in March.

Also coming into the weekend as a potential favorite is Sei-young Kim. The no. 3 player in the world has been playing well for the most part this season, including finishing T-3rd at the ANA back in April. Other favorites to take home the title include the likes of Nelly Korda and Canadian Brooke Henderson, who arrive to San Francisco as the no. 4 and 5-ranked players in the world, respectively.
