MACKINAC COUNTY, MI – A Michigan motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle crash that occurred in Mackinac County over the weekend.

According to the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Jenny Timmer of White Cloud was killed in the crash with two other vehicles on Hiawatha Trail near Livermore Road in Hudson Township on Saturday, June 5.

Police say a 42-year-old man was stopped westbound on Hiawatha Trail and was waiting to make a left turn on Livermore Road when vehicle was rear-ended by another westbound vehicle driven by Chad Hood, 40, of Naubinway.

The initial crash pushed the stopped vehicle into oncoming traffic, causing it to collide with Timmer, who was heading eastbound on her motorcycle, according to police.

She was transported to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

Hood was arraigned on Monday in the 92nd District Court for operating under the influence of drugs causing death. Bond was set at $50,000.

The crash is under investigation by Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police.
