KALAMAZOO, MI – A 19-year-old died late Tuesday, May 11, after being struck by a train, police said.

The victim’s name has not been released.

The incident happened around 11:20 p.m.

Kalamazoo public-safety officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train and found the severely injured victim near East Michigan Avenue and Riverview Drive. Officers provided medical help but the victim, a Kalamazoo resident, died at the scene.
