FLINT – No Flint-area soccer teams remain in the state tournament after the final two to reach the regional round were eliminated.
Powers Catholic was the last remaining team in the tournament and the Chargers lost 1-0 in overtime Wednesday to Williamston in the Division 3 regional semifinals at Freeland.
Williamston’s Breyer Fenech scored on a header off a corner kick with 1:26 left in the first overtime for the game’s only goal.
The game marked the second time the teams met this season. They tied 1-1 April 24.
Williamston advanced to the Friday’s 6 p.m. championship game against Essexville-Garber.
Powers’ goalkeeper Maria Thompson didn’t allow a goal in regulation for the fourth time in Powers’ last six games. She gave up two goals in the tournament, one in overtime.
Powers bowed out of the tournament with an 8-4-6 record. Williamston is 15-2-1.

Champion advances to semifinals June 15 at Northville vs. winner of Trenton regional
June 9 – Essexville Garber 3, Freeland 2; Williamston 1, Powers Catholic 0 (OT)
June 11 – Championship game, 6 p.m.
