Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the suspension of Twitter by the Nigerian government.

DAILY POST reports that the Federal Government on Friday announced the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria.

Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, who made the announcement during a press conference, cited the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of destroying Nigeria’s corporate existence as reason for the suspension.

This is coming after Twitter had on Wednesday deleted the tweet for violating its rules.

Reacting, Atiku in a tweet via his Twitter account, said his tweet on Friday, hopefully won’t be his last.

“Hopefully, this isn’t my last tweet,” he wrote.

DAILY POST reports that this recent development affects not just Nigerians on social media but also Nigerian leaders who have individual accounts on Twitter as also have been using the platform for their political campaigns.
